Privacy policy

Last updated: 29 August 2026

Imperium New Zealand operates this store and website, including all related information, content, features, tools, products and services (the "Services"). Imperium New Zealand is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information when you visit, use, or make a purchase or other transaction using the Services, when you register for one of our events, or when you otherwise communicate with us. If there is a conflict between our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, this Privacy Policy controls with respect to the collection, processing, and disclosure of your personal information.

We handle personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using and accessing any of the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and understand the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described here.

EVENT REGISTRATION

When you register for one of our events we collect more than we would for an ordinary online order: your contact details and race distance, the name you would like on your bib, your date of birth, an emergency contact, and a health and safety acknowledgement. You can also choose to share a prayer request or ask about training groups, both of which are optional.

Emergency contacts. When you provide the details of an emergency contact, you are providing us with another person's personal information. Please make sure they are aware that you have provided their details to us. We use emergency contact information only to contact them if there is an emergency involving you during an event, and never for marketing.

Participants under 16. Our events are open to participants under 16 where a parent or caregiver is present and named as the emergency contact. The parent or caregiver is responsible for the registration and may contact us regarding access to, correction of, or requests relating to the participant's personal information.

Prayer requests are entirely optional. If you choose to provide one, it will be treated as confidential within Imperium and accessed only by authorised members of the Imperium Leadership team who need to access it for that purpose. Prayer requests will not be published, shared with other participants, used for marketing, or provided to event suppliers.
